Orthodox Christian and you want to experience the fullness of the kingdom

If you are an Orthodox Christian and you want to experience the fullness of the kingdom of heaven and if you would like to be prepared for the final battle between good and evil, then you should definitely read The Book of Guys by Greg Beale. This is the second part of his Biblical Theology series. In this book, Beale tackles the second part of the trinity: the father, the son, and the holy Spirit. In this second part, he looks into the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives today.

As a student of biblical theology, I was very familiar with the trinity. However, it never occurred to me that the Holy Spirit was ever more actively involved in our lives. I always assumed that He was a very private, quiet presence who worked behind the scenes. As a result, when I read The Book of Guys by Greg Beale, it all suddenly became clear to me. The Bible doesn't speak about the Holy Spirit at all.

Instead, we are told that he is now higher (the third person) along with the Father. According to The Book of Guys by Greg Beale, he was once an obscure figure known as “Ananias” who was involved in the crucifixion of Jesus. However, later in the book he is exalted to become the high priest after the death of Jesus. Because of this, the book now portrays him as the one who was closest to Christ and therefore he played a very significant role in his earthly existence. As a result, The Book of Guys now portrays the role of the Father in more depth so that we can see how important he was to Jesus and how he was chosen by the Holy Spirit. Along the way, we learn about his wife, Sarah, and their sealing in the Garden of Eden and about the coming of Christ.

The Book of Guys goes into great detail about the historical and geographical locations in which the New Testament was supposedly revealed. It also goes into great detail about the historical figure of Jesus himself. In many ways, The Book of Guys is a revision and supplement to Dr. Larry Crabb's popular three volume work, New Testament History. In fact, I believe that The Book of Guys was written before New Testament history and therefore written with an eye toward the new generation of New Testament believers. This revision of Dr. Crabb's work is quite helpful to anyone seeking to understand the historical Jesus and the precise theological position he held in both the Old and New Testament.

This novel also provides the perfect ending to the story of Ananias and Sarah. It is in the end that we realize just how pivotal this man and woman were to the life of Jesus. They showed boldness and courage, not in the normal sense of the word, but in the biblical sense of being willing to die for Jesus. There are many other characters that are depicted in this book, and they are all important as well. The storyline is excellent and the plot will keep you turning the pages.

Another great aspect of The Book of Guys is its use of symbols. The symbols found in this book will help the reader to understand the character's motives and beliefs better. There are also numerous cross-referencing between the characters and events that take place in the Old and New Testament periods. While it would have been nice if more attention was paid to the characters and their interactions within the larger Christian storyline, the amount of time given to the secondary characters makes up for it in the end. The Book of Guys is a quick read, but at the same time it is rich with rich imagery and illustrations.

This novel is also geared towards men who are looking for the spirituality of the New Age, but who are also seeking a very traditional masculine role. It should be said that although the novel has a predominantly Christian message, it does not feel like a book meant only for Christians. It is written in a language that anyone can comprehend, and the language is easy to follow. While the story is primarily Christian in nature, it does appeal to people who are of different religions or no religion at all.

The Book of Guys is not the first Beale book to receive high ratings on both the Christian and non-Christian reading public. His previous Beale novel, A Time To Kill, did receive rave reviews upon its release. This book just might be the next in his series of successful novels. Beale has a new novel entitled The Queen's Necklace waiting in the wings, and I am sure that we will soon find out whether or not he can live up to the high standards set by his prior works. The Book of Guys is a fast-paced book filled with all types of compelling characters, and it's worth every page.
